I had my stove top replaced and the repairman was just here yesterday. (note to all- check the screws on your hood unit- tighten the screws NOW) Today I turned on the oven and hear a bang and sparks flew out from under the top frame by the dials. After slowing my beating heart, I opened the oven door and it was heating up fine and nothing seemed weird. I stood by it, well about 6 feet from it, and watched it for a bit and it seemed good so I figured it was just the initial start up after being rewired. So very wrong....
I'm over by the phone about 10 minutes later and Jamie at the sink says, "Mom, is it raining outside? What is that sound? I walk over to her and follow the sound to the oven. The lovely sound of crackling, popping electricity greets me. So the lasagna is cooking at my neighbors house and I have another 4 hour-wait-at-your-house-repairman appt. Stove is unplugged. There was definitely an IQ test involved here which I failed.
haha, hooray for service insurance! "free" new oven back? yes please! :)
