Lake Powell
This past weekend Jim,Jamie, Tyler, Jodi and I met up with Brian Holiday and his daughter at Lake Powell. No, we didn't swim or do typical water sports, but we did fish and more importantly, most everyone caught fish. Kellie and Jamie win the award for the biggest fish and the most caught. Big mouth bass, small mouth bass and Kelly Holiday even caught a blue fin. It was chilly at times, but worth it for the beauty of Lake Powell and being with folks I love. We were practically alone on a lake that was mirror smooth and so clear we could see fish 20 feet below us.
Really, I don't know why we havent' gone there more. Besides not having a boat or being mechanically minded, I think we could have pulled it off as long as we went with people who were in possession of both those necessary qualities. We stayed, well, everyone except Tyler and Jodi, at Ticoboo resort the first night and then in a 3 bedroom single wide trailer the second. It was great. Jim even cooked dinner and breakfast. Now that's a vacation.
It was awesome seeing Jodi and Tyler. I really miss being around them and am feeling the need to go visit more. They are darling together.
Jim was a stud and drove the whole way- both ways. Jamie slept and I watched DVD's. That girl can fall asleep in the 5 minutes it takes to drive to the church Sunday morning and she can sleep for about 8 hours straight on a car trip too. She and Kellie definitely have that trait in common.
Kellie stayed home to attend school and go to a church dance. She had a great time and is still adapting to being fully clothed now that we are home. She had Elise and Tavia spend the night and she thoroughly enjoyed herself.
I can't wait for Thanksgiving week when the kids all come home and the Schwabs and Grandma Pitchforth and college roommates. And anyone else the cat drags in is welcome too. The more the merrier.
